CSU-Pueblo HSB and US Bank to host economic update

PUEBLO - The Malik and Seeme Hasan School of Business (HSB) at Colorado State University-Pueblo and US Bank will co-sponsor the Pueblo Economic Forum at 11:30 a.m. on October 11 at the Pueblo Union Depot, 123 B St., in Pueblo. Dr. Michael Wakefield, professor of management at HSB, along with Norman Alvis CFA, Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager at US Bank, will be co-presenters of “Pueblo’s Economic Engine: Entrepreneurial Ecosystems. Admission is free to the public. Lunch will be provided.
Alvis is a graduate of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Norm is a devoted cyclist having participated in the 1988 Olympics. He is a member of, The Private Client Group of U.S. Bank providing a comprehensive team approach to wealth management. Norman has been serving clients at US Bank for six years and has been working in the financial services industry for more than 15 years. He specializes in building relationships with his clients and customizing options to help meet their needs.
Wakefield received his Ph.D. (1995) from the University of Nebraska along with an MBA from New Mexico State University. He has more than 25 years of experience in teaching leadership, management, and entrepreneurship courses and has served four years as the Director of the CSU-Pueblo Healy Center for Business and Economic Analysis. In these roles, he has supervised consulting projects for more than 100 local Pueblo organizations and specializes in economic development and job creation. He provides personal knowledge regarding small businesses and family businesses.
