Press Release
PUEBLO - New and expectant mothers can arm themselves with knowledge necessary to raise a happy, healthy, and safe child at the 6th annual Community Baby Shower presented by the Pueblo Early Childhood Council and the Colorado State University-Pueblo Nursing Department. The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, June 3 at the Praise Assembly of God Church in Pueblo, 2000 Troy Avenue.
The community baby shower offers pregnant women and parents of children up to five years of age an opportunity to gain knowledge about the development, health, and growth of children. Agencies from throughout the Pueblo area will offer booths to help parents and families learn how to keep their children safe and healthy as well as how to access the services and tools necessary to help their children learn, grown and play to the best of their abilities. These will include local health care representatives such as pharmacists, nurses, and lactation consultants. Among the numerous resources available at the event will be car seat safety checks, as well as information on Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) opportunities, vaccinations, and nutrition.
Donations of gift cards and items appropriate for children ages 0-5 years and pregnant mothers now are being accepted for use as door prizes and giveaways during the event. All donations can be dropped off on the CSU-Pueblo campus in the Technology building outside of T221. For more information, contact csupbabyshower@gmail.com
