Press Release

PUEBLO – The Colorado State University-Pueblo Foundation will be one of 10 area nonprofits featured at the El Pomar Foundation’s booth during the Colorado State Fair.  The El Pomar booth is located in the Palace of Agriculture in the center of the State Fairgrounds and is open Wednesday through Sunday.

“The CSU-Pueblo Foundation has been selected as one of 10 organizations that will be highlighted for its work and impact in Southern Colorado,” said Peter A. Maiurro, El Pomar vice president.

Visitors to the El Pomar exhibit will have a chance to vote for the CSU-Pueblo Foundation and, if selected, will receive one of two $2,500 grants that will be given throughout the week.

Through grant making and community stewardship programs reaching all 64 counties of Colorado, El Pomar Foundation supports the mission set forth by founders Spencer and Julie Penrose--to enhance, encourage, and promote the current and future well-being of the people of Colorado.

The CSU-Pueblo Foundation provides sustainable financial support to the University and its students, in the form of private gifts and grants, to achieve our shared goal of excellence and its mission is to advance CSU-Pueblo's mission through philanthropic efforts designed to supplement and enhance University Programs, activities and educational opportunities.

The CSU-Pueblo Foundation challenges fans and supporters to fuel the momentum of the “On the Move Campaign” - an ambitious $25 million, 3-year goal that includes $15 million for scholarships, $5 million for the University Center renovation, and $5 million for athletic expansion and enhancement.
