Release Date: October 14, 2014
Press Release
PUEBLO – Every ten years, Colorado State University-Pueblo is assessed to verify that it is meeting or exceeding accreditation standards by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and providing quality educational experiences for its students. HLC evaluates the University based on established standards to determine its accreditation status and this time around will use five criterion as well federal compliance, assumed practices, and a quality initiative selected by the University.
A Reaccreditation Recruitment Luncheon was held on campus Monday to begin the campus-wide preparation for the HLC review team visit during the 2017 Spring Semester. The HLC Steering Committee, led by Provost Dr. Carl Wright, has formed task forces for each of the criterion and four additional areas.
- Criterion 1: Mission
- Criterion 2: Integrity: Ethical and Responsible Conduct
- Criterion 3: Teaching and Learning: Quality, Resources, and Support
- Criterion 4: Teaching and Learning: Evaluation and Improvement
- Criterion 5: Resources, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness
- Federal Compliance
- Assumed Practices
- Quality Initiative
- Communications
“To prepare for the visit, we must provide documentation that attests to the high quality educational and operating environment that exists at CSU-Pueblo,” said Provost Wright. “Monday’s luncheon provided all constituent groups of the University with information about HLC standards and the process that will be used to provide the necessary information for re-affirmation.”
A web page is under construction for the HLC Reaccreditation Process, which will answer questions and provide information about the University’s progress toward reaffirmation.
