MS Pathway

Application Deadline

Completed applications are due by February 15th each year for the following fall cohort start date. Applications submitted prior to the deadline will receive priority status. Applications received after the deadline will be considered if space is available.

Part 1 - University Application

All students interested in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program must apply to CSU Pueblo in addition to the School of Nursing.

  1. Apply to the University below
  2. $35 application fee
  3. Submit transcripts for all institutions attended to:
    Colorado State University Pueblo
    Admissions Department
    2200 Bonforte Blvd
    Pueblo, CO 81001 
    OR electronically: info@csupueblo.edu
  1. Baccalaureate Degree: In nursing from an institution accredited by a regional accreditation agency (or equivalent).
  2. Grade Point Average: Undergraduate BSN cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher will consider courses with a graduate nursing GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  3. RN License: Proof of active, unrestricted Colorado Registered Nurse license by the end of the first semester of the program.
  4. Letters of Recommendation: These must be from:
    1. Professional or Academic
    2. Clinical
    3. Other
  1. Letter of intent: Must include:
    1. Brief professional history
    2. Reason for pursuing advanced degree
    3. How applicant will manage work, home, and study
  1. Curriculum Vitae: Must abide by CV Format

Part 2 - MS Pathway Application

The School of Nursing and Health Sciences uses CastleBranch for submission of supplemental documents. 

  1. Statistics, Chemistry, Microbiology Courses: Undergraduate coursework with a grade of C or higher.
  2. RN License: Proof of active, unrestricted Colorado Registered Nurse license by the end of the first semester of the program.
  3. Background Check: Must abide by Colorado Law.
  4. Drug Screen
  5. Immunizations: Copy of latest immunizations
  6. CPR Certification: Health Care Provider – C or equivalent.

Students accepted into the University are not guaranteed acceptance into the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program, nor are students accepted into the DNP Program guaranteed admission into CSU Pueblo.
