People walking into the Thunder Zone Complex

Project Began: February 2017
Project Completion: June 2017

  • Description:
    • Approximate Cost: $2.4 million
    • 10,000 square-foot building
    • Designed by Architect Gary Anzuini
    • Built by Arc Valley Construction
    • First Tenant: Thunder Zone Pizza

The CSU-Pueblo Foundation seeks to advance the University by building and managing this commercial complex, which it hopes will begin to address a common complaint by CSU-Pueblo students and staff about the lack of commercial services near campus. Thunder Zone Pizza already has signed on to open in June at 2270 Rawlings Blvd in a 5,500-square-foot area and will offer product samples following the groundbreaking ceremony.

The Foundation is actively seeking tenants that offer products or services attractive to the college demographic to fill the remaining 4,500 square feet. The Foundation purchased the land, will pay for construction of the building complex, and will manage the building and parking lot. All rent revenue from Thunder Village will be returned to the CSU-Pueblo Foundation to further its support of the University.
