Bio

Alcon-Montoya graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Social Science and Secondary Education from the University of Southern Colorado in 1993; a Masters of Arts Degree in Guidance Counseling in 1999 from Adams State College and a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership in 2006. After teaching Chicano Studies and sponsoring M.E.Ch.A. for five years at Keating Education Center she received the position of Guidance Counselor at Risley Middle School where she has been for the past ten years. At Risley she has sponsored Student Council, coached Cheerleading and Track, and serves on a variety of community organizations and committees. She also teaches Chicano Studies 101 part-time for both CSU-Pueblo and PCC. When not teaching Ms. Montoya enjoys spending time with her two children, Eddie and Rosalinda.
