Bio

Jamie Peralta is a dedicated educator, social worker, and community advocate currently serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor and BSW Coordinator in the Department of Social Work at Colorado State University Pueblo. She has been with CSU Pueblo since 2020.Peralta teaches a range of undergraduate and graduate courses in social work, including subjects like Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Social Work Research, and Intervention with Families and Children. Additionally, she serves as a mentor and advisor to students.Before her role at CSU Pueblo, Peralta held various positions at Pueblo Community College, including Retention Coach and Coordinator for the Student Mentoring Program. In these roles, she supported student success and retention initiatives. 

Outside of academia, Peralta is deeply involved in community service and leadership. She serves on several boards, including the Pueblo Child Advocacy Center She has received numerous accolades, including CSU Pueblo's Faculty Excellence Award in 2023 and multiple nominations for Instructor of the Year. Her professional interests also extend to research on culturally responsive teaching and social work abroad programs.
