Foust, Carol, PhD

Bio

Dr. Carol Foust studied at the University of New Mexico where she earned a B.S. in School Health Education with a minor in Biology and an M.S. in Community Health. She completed an M.Ed. in Counseling at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX and a Ph.D. in Health Education from Texas A&M University. Dr. Foust is also a Licensed Professional Counselor.

She has made more than 75 peer reviewed presentations and has authored more than 25 peer reviewed publications including a wellness text book. In addition, she was the principal investigator, grant writer, evaluator and/or project member on 33 grants totaling more than $4.8 million. She was recently the project evaluator on the Teen Lifestyle Balance grant and the UGARDENS Community Garden grant funded by the Colorado Health Foundation. She is currently the principle investigator on the Partnership to Explore Mindfulness Training in Pueblo City Schools to Prevent School Violence and Empower Health Decisions grant funded by the Colorado Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. Dr. Foust is interested in mental, emotional and spiritual health issues and how they impact chronic disease and quality of life.
