About Open Education
Open Education at CSU Pueblo is a joint project of the University Library and the Center for Teaching and Learning intended to help faculty to find, adapt, and use open education resources in all areas of study. The initiative also provides support and guidance for faculty creating and publishing original open education resources.
The project has three main aims:
- Help students save money by offering low-cost and free alternatives to traditional textbooks
- Create a collection of open textbooks that support CSU Pueblo's specialized programs and centers of excellence
- Increase the visibility and impact of faculty's work by providing them with a way to create and publish open education resources
CSU Pueblo is a member of the Open Textbook Network (OTN), a growing collective of higher education institutions working together to increase use of open textbooks on their campuses.
As an OTN member, CSU Pueblo has a voice in how textbooks are created, shared, and used—now, and in the future. OTN members also benefit from in-depth training workshops and community support. The OTN maintains the Open Textbook Library, a catalog of open textbooks collected from colleges and universities around the U.S., with reliable reviews written by experts.
