About the Southern Colorado Institute of Transportation Technology
The Southern Colorado Institute of Transportation Technology (SCITT) was established in May 2022 through a collaboration between Colorado State University Pueblo and the State of Colorado to advance transportation-related education, research, and workforce development.
SCITT conducts and facilitates education, training, and research addressing safety, security, and innovation across railroad, ground, intermodal, and surface transportation systems. By connecting students, faculty, researchers, and industry professionals, SCITT supports the creation of safer, more efficient, and more resilient transportation networks.
The institute also serves as a statewide resource for agencies, universities, and industry partners, offering expertise, data-driven studies, and collaborative opportunities to guide decision-making, advance technology, and strengthen infrastructure.
Through education, outreach, and workforce development, SCITT prepares future leaders in engineering, safety, logistics, and transportation management while supporting Colorado’s evolving mobility and infrastructure needs.
