The Department of Biology offers competitive pre-professional programs which provide students with a versatile background of the major areas within biology along with the educational opportunity to select courses to fit their personal interests. Whatever your passion, the field of Biology has an emphasis for you!

3+2: Biology Joint Bachelor of Science/Master of Science

Earn both a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Biology in as little as five years.

Program Offerings


Biology, BS

This program prepares students in applied scientific skills through data analysis, laboratory research, and concepts and terminology in molecular, cellular, organismal, & ecological biology. We offer six emphasis areas in biology.

Wildlife & Natural Resources, BS

This program exposes students to fish and wildlife ecology and management with practical skills obtained during laboratory and field exercises. There are two emphasis areas available in Aquatic and Terrestrial.

Biology, MS

This graduate program prepares students for success and advancement in careers in scientific research to develop their knowledge and skills in the discipline of Biology studies to professional levels.


Biology, Minor

This minor is designed for students interested in a broad-based theoretical foundation supplemented by laboratory and field experience.
