Our Programs
How learning happens at ECEMS
Teachers observe and document children’s activities, then use that documentation to understand each child’s development in social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical areas. These assessments guide next steps in lesson planning for the group as well as individual children, so learning stays responsive, meaningful, and supportive.
Observation & documentation
We capture what children are exploring and practicing, and we use those insights to plan learning experiences that meet them where they are.
Project approach
We incorporate projects that let children explore an area of interest more deeply—asking questions, investigating, creating, and sharing what they learn.
Families as partners
Parents are viewed as collaborators with teachers and children in the learning process. We value open communication and shared goals throughout the year.
What this looks like each day
You’ll see guided play, thoughtful routines, and learning experiences shaped by children’s interests—supported by teachers who observe closely and respond intentionally.
Colorado Shines
Level 3–5 Colorado Shines ratings are awarded using a point system. Programs earn points by demonstrating quality in each rating category. The point system is designed to be flexible, allowing programs to show quality in many ways. That means that even among programs at the same rating level, there are differences in how programs look and function—no two programs look the same.
Colorado Shines ratings reflect a program’s success across areas such as workforce qualifications and professional development, family partnerships, leadership and management, learning environment, and child health.
