Bio
Professor Gonzalez is an instructor of BSW classes, as well as the Title IV-E Coordinator and BSW Field Coordinator. Prior to joining Colorado State University Pueblo she has worked in roles including family case manager at a homeless shelter, refugee resettlement case manager, and social worker for a community college. She enjoys being able to bring these experiences into practice classes, and sharing real life scenarios and best practices with students. Professor Gonzalez also has social work practice experience in The Netherlands, Cameroon, and Nepal and strongly believes that international social work, diversity, and cultural competence are extremely important and therefore are at the center of all classes that she teaches. In her free time she enjoys being actively involved in the local LGBTQ+ community, hiking and camping with her three dogs and partner, any and all traveling, and more recently working on becoming dive certified and snorkeling with sharks.
