CSU-Pueblo has established a partnership with the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. This summer CSU-Pueblo will be sending 4 students to D.C. from June 1st—August 3rd. This is an unpaid internship with airfare and housing covered by the university and a small stipend for expenses while interns are in D.C. Students may earn up to 3 credit hours of internship, depending on your faculty advisor’s approval. Requirements include: Junior or senior level standing, open to all majors, minimum 3.0 GPA, ability to pass a federal background check, and at least one course focused on diversity in the U.S. Courses may include Chicano Studies or upper division world language. Submit: Résumé, Cover Letter specifying why you are interested in interning at the Smithsonian, current unofficial transcript, and, a 250 word statement for why the Smithsonian would benefit your long term career goals, 2 letters of recommendation preferably from CSU-Pueblo tenured and tenure track faculty and/or 1 letter from a work study supervisor. Letters should address work ethic, academic success, and level of motivation. Applications are due by December 10th and should be sent in one pdf document to Fawn Amber Montoya.
