Please join CSU-Pueblo's TRIO Programs and the First-generation College Student Mentor Program on Wednesday, November 8th between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in LARC 357 for our National First-generation College Celebration recognizing the presence and experiences of first-generation college students, faculty and staff.

The event will include refreshments, games, activities, information tables and commemorative buttons for first-generation attendees and their supporters. The concept of "first-generation" students was introduced into federal policy by the TRIO community in 1980, during passage of the Higher Education Amendments to the Higher Education Act of 1965. Since that time colleges have become increasingly sensitive to the needs of first-generation students and the millions of first-generation college graduates are playing an increasingly important role in our society.
