Vision 2028

April 30, 2018

University Community--

Today, I have several special announcements. First, I am delighted to share the theme for our fall 2018 convocation week. Our theme, “Vision 2028” will set the tone for the busy and exciting months ahead. Special guest speakers, all-employee meetings, all faculty meeting, open fora, and creative workshops will be announced in the coming weeks.

Next, effective May 1st, Dr. Donna Souder Hodge will step down from her position as the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and will take on a new role as Special Assistant to the President for Visioning. Dr. Jonathan Poritz, Professor of Mathematics and Data Analyst for the CTL, has agreed to serve as the Interim Director of the CTL. Thank you to Jonathan for his willingness to serve.

During this special appointment, Dr. Souder Hodge will lead an innovative team of university thought leaders in order to research, collect data, and engage university and community stakeholders through each step of our visioning process. You can read more about this assignment, related methodology, and timeline in the attached press release.

If you are interested in working with Dr. Souder Hodge on the Visioning Task Force, I want to encourage you to apply to be member of this innovative team. Any interested member of our faculty or staff should fill out the Vision 2028 Application [Application Now Closed] to detail your interest, expertise, and evidence of creative campus problem solving on or before May 18th. Dr. Donna Souder Hodge can be reached at x2282 or in Admin 301 for additional questions.

I am enthusiastic and excited about the future we are going to create together and I am pleased to name Donna to this important role. Please join me in thanking her for her service and congratulating her on this new position.

Thank you, and best wishes for a productive and pleasant finals week.
