Sand Volleyball

League Information:

Beach/Sand volleyball is quite similar to volleyball with the most glaring difference being that the game is played on sand and not a hard court surface. Play is quite similar to regular volleyball with each team getting three hits to place the ball over the net and onto their opponent’s side.

Registration
  • Registration generally early August and closes shortly after the start of the semester.
  • The season goes from September 1st through October 6th on weekday nights.
  • League play is typically 4 weeks in length, followed by a double/single elimination tournament. All teams who have an average sportsmanship rating of 2.5, and did not have more than one forfeit, will be seeded into the bracket.
  • Roster additions may be made up until playoffs begin.

Eligibility Exceptions
  • Only 2 highly competitive athletes may be on any roster at any time. This is a protestable rule.
General Rules of Play
  • All leagues will play 4 vs. 4, with a 3 player minimum to start the game.
  • CoRec leagues require a minimum of 4 players (2 male and female) to start the game.
  • Maximum roster limit is 10 people.
  • Games will consist of best of 3 games to 25, win by 2.
