Bio
Michael Briscoe earned his PhD at Utah State University in sociology with an emphasis on environment and community and social inequality. His research focuses on the intersection of human, animal, and environmental well-being and has been published most recently in the Sustainability: Science, Practice, and Policy, Environmental Sociology, and Sociology of Development. Michael teaches courses on environmental sociology, social theory, and the sociology of science and the future, including as part of the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program. He is the author of the book Stocks or Stakeholders: The Benefits of Considering Animal Interests.
