Mary Placzkowski, DAT, LAT, ATC

Bio

Dr. Mary Placzkowski studied at the University of Maine where she earned her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education. She complete her Masters at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville in Sports Studies with a focus on Sports Psychology. She completed her Doctorate at the University of Idaho in Athletic Training. Her dissertation was titled: Advancement in Clinical Care through Novel Therapy Interventions: Exploring Acute and Healthy Populations.

Dr. Placzkowski has been a certified athletic trainer since 2008.  She has worked in the high school, Division I and Division III, and NAIA athletics settings as a certified athletic trainer. She has been teaching in the college setting since 2013 starting as an adjunct and progressing to a full-time faculty in 2019. Her areas of interest include novel approaches to manual therapy, global approaches to dysfunction and pain, and patient reported outcome measures. When not working, Dr. Placzkowski enjoys spending time outside and exploring the mountains with her husband Paul and two kids, Xander and Makenzie.
