Bio
Dr. Mark Hudson serves as Professor of Music, Department Chair, and Coordinator of Music Education at Colorado State University Pueblo. Recently Associate Professor of Music and Coordinator of Music Education at Colorado Christian University. He has been involved with music education in various roles for over 40 years, and his driving passion is preparing future music educators to be successful servants to youth and music.
Dr. Hudson is a founding member of the Colorado Arts Education Coalition and was appointed by the Governor of Colorado to the State High School Graduation Guidelines Development Council. An active advocate for the arts in education, he served the Colorado Department of Education and the profession as a member of the Colorado Academic Standards Music Review Subcommittee, the Colorado Content Collaborative in Music, and the Music Curriculum Development Task Force.
Dr. Hudson has presented at three iterations of the International Symposium on Assessment in Music Education, as well as the National Council on Measurement in Education Special Conference on Classroom Assessment. He recently co-authored a chapter for a new publication, The Oxford Handbook of Assessment Policy and Practice in Music Education, and is a Past-President of the Colorado Music Educators Association.
Dr. Hudson is a conductor, clinician, scholar, researcher, author, presenter, and, most importantly, an experienced educator who truly believes in “students first”.
