Bio
Dr. Scott is a cultural anthropologist with research interests in Brazilian shantytowns, prison education in the U.S., and comparative criminal justice. He joins CSU-Pueblo after teaching at the University of Colorado, Marquette University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Beloit College, and in Wisconsin prisons. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including American Anthropologist, Human Organization, The Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Anthropology, The Journal of Legal Anthropology, and Consumer Culture. Scott is currently working on a book manuscript about the failure of community policing in the lead-up to the 2016 Rio Olympics and the role of social media in mobilizing citizen engagement.
