Bio

Brittany Bonner (oboe/English horn) has a versatile career that includes performance, education and community engagement in the Colorado Front Range region and beyond. She is currently the Instructor of Oboe at Colorado State University-Pueblo, and performs with the Faculty Woodwind Quintet. Striving to meet the individual needs of each student, Ms. Bonner teaches lessons that focus on key concepts of playing the oboe such as establishing a beautiful tone, proficient technique, and advanced concepts of musical phrasing. Students of Ms. Bonner have been accepted into various honor bands in Colorado and Texas, She is also serves on the faculty at Parlando School of Musical Arts in Boulder, Colorado. 

In addition to her teaching obligations, Ms. Bonner is the principal oboist of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, and also holds positions in the Boulder Philharmonic and Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra. She frequently performs with other professional ensembles, including Colorado Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, and the Colorado Ballet Orchestra. She completed her Master of Music degree at the University of Colorado Boulder with a full fellowship to perform with the graduate woodwind quintet. Before coming to Colorado, Ms. Bonner grew up in Texas and graduated cum laude from Baylor University, where she was named the Presser Foundation Scholar and made her solo debut with the Baylor Symphony Orchestra as the winner of the School of Music’s Concerto Competition. Ms. Bonner’s primary teachers include Peter Cooper, Doris DeLoach, and Jason Licthenwalter.
