Frequently Asked Questions

  •

What is the Pack Ready or First Day Complete program?

Our Pack Ready program is often referred to as a First Day Complete program. First Day Complete is a course material delivery model that simplifies the student experience, may lower the cost of materials, and ensures students have access to all required course materials on or before the first day of class. Through this innovative program, physical books are conveniently packaged and provided to students on a rental basis, and access to digital material is directly within the campus LMS, simply priced at $25 per credit hour. At the end of the term, students will receive email reminders to return rented physical course materials to the bookstore.
  •

    How does it work?

    • Register for your classes and the bookstore will start preparing your course materials.
    • One month before classes start, you will receive an email instructing you to select your delivery preference (in-store pickup or shipped directly to you).
    • An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships.
    • Your digital materials will be delivered for your course(s) within the LMS (learning management software such as Blackboard or Canvas).
  •

    Who is eligible to participate?

The Pack Ready program is for undergraduate, degree seeking students. Due to the unique needs of the programs, nursing majors and incarcerated students are excluded. Experiential courses such as internships and field study are also excluded.
  •

What materials are included in the program?

The program provides all required textbooks, eTextbooks, lab manuals, and access codes to eligible students.
  •

What materials are excluded from the program?

The program does not include consumable course supplies that cannot be returned and reused such as lab goggles, dissection kits, molecular model kits, engineering kits, or nursing kits.
  •

How do I enroll in the program?

All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in the Pack Ready program.
  •

Can I opt-out of the program?

This program charges students a flat fee of $25 per credit hour. All courses are bundled in one total price. If students do not find the program beneficial (ex. if the total fee exceeds the total cost of their textbooks), they can opt-out. Note that students cannot opt-out of only one class. If they opt-out, they do so for the entire Pack Ready program for that semester. There is an opt-out window that must be observed. The opt-out window is open four weeks before first class day through the "end of drop period for full-time courses" as indicated on the academic calendar.

By opting out, students will not receive their required materials in a package and will instead be able to select the textbooks they need a la cart from the bookstore or purchase them from other sources. Access to digital content that was provided as part of the Pack Ready program will be removed after the opt-out window closes and replaced by any new textbooks selections the student makes. Options for purchasing course materials after opting out can be found on the bookstore website: https://csupueblo.bncollege.com/. To begin the opt-out process, please go to the opt-out page.

  •

How do I change my opt-out status?

To change your opt-out status and opt into the Pack Ready program, please go to the opt-out page or follow the instructions found in the opt-out confirmation email you received after opting-out. Please note you must make your final selection before the opt-out period ends at the "end of drop period for full-time courses" as indicated on the academic calendar.
  •

If I'm only taking courses in a shorter part of the term and not any full term courses, can I opt-out and how?

The process for how you opt-out if you are ONLY taking shorter sessions with a later start date depends on when you register for those classes.

If you register for the classes before or during the term's online opt-out period, then you will use the online system to opt-out.

If you register for the shorter sessions AFTER the online opt-out window ends, you can opt through the end of the drop/add date for your earliest starting class by contacting the bookstore directly at sm8565@bncollege.com

    Open Educational Resources (OER)

Some classes use free textbooks in the form of open educational resources (OER). If your course uses OERs, you may not need the Pack Ready program and may wish to opt out. However, if your other classes have more expensive textbooks, the Pack Ready program may still save you money. You can review the overall costs and the ability to opt out in the Pack Ready portal.
