Nursing Pumpkin Patch, happening from 10am-2pm at the Technology Building - Simulation Lab. The School of Nursing welcomes you to the Addams Family mansion with a moulage and pumpkin decorating station. Featured will be SimMan 3G and the Sim Family - talking, breathing, and "living" manikins.
Nursing students are hosting the free, Adams Family Pumpkin Patch event for children of all ages from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, in the Technology Building. Two rooms will be dedicated to family fun. A childrens section will feature coloring, pumpkin decoration, and movie sections. Manikins will be dressed in fun costumes, and children will be able to snack on candy and light refreshments. The second room for adults over the age of 18 allows participants to work first hand with simulator manikins, which breathe, talk, and have interactive components. One station will showcase various simulations e.g., wounds, cuts and bloody lacerations, bite marks etc. The blood will be fake. Attendees also may experience two deliveries of babies by a simulation mother. Stethoscopes would be provided for listening to heart and lung sounds.
