Theatre of the Oppressed Workshops

Formed as a project for the Positive Psychology Class, directed by Dr. Karen Yescavage, The Theatre for Social Change Project is a Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) Troupe that focuses on promoting social well-being in Colorado State University-Pueblo. Grounded in the works of Brazilian teacher, actor, and activist, Augusto Boal, we offer the opportunity to dialogue and act around issues of racism, sexism, classism, privilege, and other social problems that our community faces. We will: -Teach you basic theatre techniques -Create Forum Theatres to discuss topics like: race, sexuality, suicide, immigration, etc. -Promote the arts and creativity as a tool to empower communities.
