After the start of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars service members began taking their own lives in increasing numbers. An average of 20 veterans commits suicide every day. In a comprehensive state-by-state study, the rates were at a minimum of 1.5 times greater than the civilian populace. Figuring out why people take their own lives is a problem that extends far beyond the military. The reasons for suicide are complex and loosely understood. Please join Ms. Norma Rivera from Ft Carson Army Post to help educate us on this catastrophic issue.
