In the past decade there has been an increasing concern regarding the problem of sexual violence in the military. The complexity in defining sexual trauma within the Department of Defense compared to the VA further reflects the multifaceted nature and responsibilities. Considerable research has focused on the impact of sexual victimization while in the military, primarily for female service members.
