Participants will hear from Binny Grainger, former Director of Investigations for one of the South Asia offices of International Justice Mission, as well as three FBI representatives and CSU-Pueblo Adjunct Professor Tiffany Grainger.
According to Grainger an estimated 40.3 million individuals (25 million in sex trafficking and forced labor and 15 million in forced marriages) are human trafficking victims. “Colorado is considered a Tier 4 state, lowest/worst for victim assistance programs,” Grainger said. “However, Colorado was rated most improved in 2014 for creating laws relating to human trafficking offenses.”
At the close of the workshop, participants should be able to explain what human trafficking is, describe laws and legislation related to human trafficking, exhibit an understanding of how to identify potential victims, and engage in safe and proper reporting. “Attendees will have a solid foundation on how to recognize a victim or a trafficking situation and how to handle it properly,” Grainger said.
Participants may register starting at $99 for basic registration or $155 for those seeking continuing education (CEU) credit.
