Trips for Travel/Study Abroad for CSU-Pueblo Students

Summer trip to a Spanish Language School

  • Contact: Alegría Ribadeneira. This type of trip is already facilitated through the Spanish program.
  • Length: One to six weeks (one credit per week of immersion).
  • Structure: This course of study is based in country and follows the structure of the language school the student picks.
  • Credits: variable.
  • Work: What the language school requires.
  • Logistics: The Spanish instructor and the student get together before the student departs in order to approve the school and decide on equivalencies once student returns. Student does not register for any classes at CSU-Pueblo in order to avoid double tuition. When student returns, instructor administers an examination and confers credit by examination on courses previously agreed on.
  • Advantages: This course is a great opportunity for students who want to get credit in Spanish in order to complete their SPN minors and majors. It also gives the student full immersion fostering proficiency. It is very flexible since students can go anytime and anywhere as long as the instructor previously approves.
