Until further notice, CSU Pueblo is serving our students and the public in a remote model.

Resources and Activities for Students of Italian

Group of students on the Study Abroad trip to Italy.

Italian Film Series

You’re invited to join students of Italian for Italian film nights! Movies will be in Italian with English subtitles and open to all CSU-Pueblo students and Pueblo community members. Announcements will be made throughout the academic year regarding the dates and times of the film screenings. All films will be viewed in the John L. Garcia Jr. Language Center on campus (PSY 147).

Italian Conversation

Il Circolo Italiano: Students of Italian are invited to attend the Italian Language Circle Mondays from 2:00pm-3:00pm in the Language center (Psychology 147). All levels (from novice to native speakers) are welcome to participate.

Language Center

(147 Psychology) This facility offers wonderful resources, services and activities.  You can find computers, books, DVDs and games. There are also tutoring and conversation partners waiting to help students exercise their language skills. Activities include movie nights, language circles, club gatherings, festivals, and game nights. It is the perfect place to exercise your language skills in a social environment. Daily hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9:00-5:00. Contact the Supervisor of the Language Center for additional information.

Tutoring is available in LARC 251 and is highly recommended. Practicing Italian outside of the classroom presents a good opportunity to get individual attention. A native Italian speaker will be offering private lessons this semester. For more information, contact the Gen. Ed. Tutoring Coordinator Mr. Chad Pickering, or telephone: 719.549.2756.

Special Events

Over the course of the academic year the Italian faculty will host a variety of activities, guest lectures and special events. Additionally, there are several outside events hosted by Italian organizations (Sons of Italy, Dante Alighieri Society, Cabrini Lodge, etc.) within the Pueblo community. Student memberships to these organizations are available at discounted rates.
