Bio

I would like to briefly introduce myself, Dr. Peter A. Bruce (Pete or Peter). I am the new Graduate Instructional Technologist and Designer in Graduate Studies and Information Technology here at CSU Pueblo. My supervisor, Dr. Susan Belport, has brought me here to help build new graduate programs and to consult with faculty members on their campus-based, hybrid, and online courses. My Ph.D. is in Teaching and Learning with a focus in F2F, hybrid, and online instructional design and educational technology. Among my peer-reviewed papers and publications is my book, Foundations of Online Higher Education, published by Scholar’s Press and available in eight languages.

My background comes primarily from the University of Utah where I graduated and worked for nearly 20 years. My curriculum development contributions there received national recognition for two diversity courses funded by $1.5 million from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and accepted for use by 64 universities. I also helped lead the online CBE curriculum in the Nursing program at Western Governors University to recognition as a National Center of Excellence by the National League for Nursing (NLN), one of only 12 schools of nursing to receive this designation. More recently, I have consulted and presented at universities and medical schools in the U.S., England, Scotland, and Canada.
