Dr. Jonathan Poritz

Bio

Dr. Poritz is Associate Professor of Mathematics, holding a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago (1992) and a BA from Harvard University (1985). Dr. Poritz has taught mathematics and computer science at over a dozen universities in both Europe and North America. Poritz has worked in start-ups, midsized, and multinational IT companies, primarily in privacy and security. He has three patents in computer security, scholarly papers in global analysis and cryptography, a free and open textbook on number theory and cryptography, and is coauthor (with Jonathan Rees) of Education is Not an APP: The Political Economy of University Teaching in the Internet Age(forthcoming from Routledge, August 2016).
