CSU-Pueblo students highlight construction industry at annual Construction Career Days

On Wednesday, September 19th, the CSU-Pueblo Construction Management and Civil Engineering Technology department attended Southern Colorado’s annual Construction Career Days at the Norris Penrose Event Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

The purpose of the event is to broaden student knowledge about the multi-faceted opportunities available and to increase the number of men and women entering the construction industry.

Ten CSU-Pueblo students and staff facilitated hands-on activities with 800+ high school students in the area. CSU-Pueblo students shared their experiences in their respective programs and encouraged the high school students to consider a major in construction management or civil engineering technology.

The construction industry is one of the fastest-growing career fields. CSU-Pueblo offers 100% face-to-face and 100% online options, or a combination of both online and face-to-face classes which provides students flexibility to enter the workplace, obtain internships, and gain hands-on experiences while completing their degree. CSU-Pueblo graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills to enter the industry as field supervisors, project superintendents, or project managers at starting salaries much higher than the national average.
