Nurse Educator Certificates are for students who are looking to further their knowledge and skills for nursing education. The Nurse Educator Post Masters Certification is for students who are looking to obtain their Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and who have earned their masters or graduate degree. Included with the post masters certification is a mandatory 585 clinical hour component for any nurse practitioner emphasis.

Admissions Requirements
Students can pursue the BSN Pathway of the Nurse Educator, Master of Science Online Program if the following criteria is met:
- Nursing License: Applicants must have Colorado Nursing License in good standing.
- Baccalaureate Degree: Students must have satisfatorily completed a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an institution accredited by a regional accreditation agency or equivalent.
- Registered Nurse Hours: Prospective students must have completed 2,000 hours (1 year full-time) of experience as a Registered Nurse (AGACNP,
AGACNP/FNP and PMHNP emphases only). - Grade Point Average: Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to get accepted into the program.
- Statistics Coursework: Students must have passed at least one undergraduate level statistics course with a grade of C or higher.
- Background Check: Per Colorado Law, the University is required to run a background check on applicants.
- Immunization Record: Applicants must provide latest record of vaccinations received
- CPR Certification: All students registered in graduate nursing programs are required to provide proof of being CPR Certified.
- Letters of Recommendation: Three letters of recommendation must be submitted from the following areas:
- Professional or Academic
- Clinical
- Other
- Letter of Intent: The letter must include brief history of self, reason for pursuing the degree, and plan of how the applicant will manage the program courseload.
- Curriculum Viate: Candidates must submit a CV in the University-Approved template.
- Drug Screen
- Physical exam within the last 12 months
Preference
1. More than two (2) years of practice experience
2. One year or more of experience as a clinical adjunct instructor
3. Residency in Southern Colorado
