Message from Research and Sponsored Programs
Dear Colleagues:
We are about a month into the sweeping changes coming from the federal government, and I want to thank you all for your ongoing collaboration and support. Due to the rapidly changing federal landscape for grants and in order to provide consistent and relevant information to our university community, CSU Pueblo has launched a new webpage that will serve as a central resource for updates on federal actions, campus communications, and guidance as it becomes available. I also wanted to take this opportunity to reinforce a few key points:
- If you receive a request from a sponsor to modify your award, please immediately reach out to us at CSUP_ORSP@csupueblo.edu. All modifications must be reviewed and submitted by the Office of Sponsored Programs; do not submit them independently. We know that some of these requests have come with very short timelines, and we have organized ourselves to respond rapidly.
- We continue to be operating in a fluid environment. On Friday, a court extended the temporary restraining order halting the NIH from capping F&A at 15%. Another judge prohibited on a temporary basis adding new terms and conditions to awards that seek to enforce some components of the executive orders. At this time, we are moving forward with new submissions based on the current notice of funding and our negotiated rates as applicable until we are told otherwise by the Office of General Counsel.
- Please continue with your research activities unless you have been directed otherwise by ORSP; continue to with the original terms and conditions of your award.
- Send questions, suggestions, and requests for support – along with any notices and orders from sponsoring agencies – to CSUP_ORSP@csupueblo.edu
ORSP in collaboration with the Office of the Provost and other CSU Pueblo leadership is reviewing and monitoring federal policy changes to evaluate impact and provide guidance for the CSU Pueblo community. If we receive any information pertaining to one of our grants or federally sponsored contracts, I will communicate directly with principal investigators (PIs) and project leads. If you have specific questions about your particular grant or sponsored project, you may reach out to me directly at john.vasquez@csupueblo.edu.
Regards,
