    How much does the English Language Institute (ELI) Cost?

    Tuition is $3,000 per semester for a full-time load. Mandatory student fees, textbooks and supplies, and housing and meal plans are additional costs.

    When do classes begin and end?

    Fall and Spring semesters are 15 weeks. The summer session has 12 weeks. Fall semester begins in late August and ends before Christmas. Spring semester begins in mid January and ends in early May. Summer runs from mid May to the end of July.

    How many students are in ELI classes?

    Classes are usually between 5 and 10 students.

    When can I get my I-20?

    After you submit all the required admission documents, you will receive an acceptance package from the International Programs office. The package contains your I-20 and information about how to travel to Pueblo. It is very important for you to make sure that we have your correct mailing address so that the package will reach you. The package is mailed via regular airmail and generally reaches you in about two weeks. If you need to receive your package sooner, you can pay for delivery by Federal Express. To pay, you need to supply us with a sixteen-digit credit card number (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover), the expiration date and the three-digit security code located on the back of the card. We will then email you the information about the cost, the airway bill number (for tracking purposes) and the estimated date of arrival.

    How long must I study English before I can enter the university?

    It depends on your level of English proficiency. Most undergraduate programs at CSU-Pueblo require a TOEFL score of 500 (61 Internet-based TOEFL). On average, students gain between 30-50 points per semester. Students may also be admitted on the recommendation of the director.

    May I take classes in the university while I am in the ELI?

    With the recommendation of the director, students may enroll for one university class while they are attending the ELI. Students pay the regular tuition for the class.

    Do I need a TOEFL score to apply for the ELI?

    No, it is not necessary to have a TOEFL score to apply. We request that you submit any scores from tests that you have already taken. Our program is designed for students who have at least 400 when they begin Level 1.

    Can I take the Institutional TOEFL test at the ELI?

    Yes, the Institutional TOEFL is given at the end of each semester.
