ICR Governing Board

Governor Polis Announced Board and Commission Appointments

The Board was created through HB19-1311. The role and mission of the institute is to conduct or fund research related to cannabis and publicly disseminate the results of the research. The Governing Board is tasked with overseeing the institute and approving its annual budget. The Governing Board shall advise any Colorado institution of higher education that is developing cannabis related curriculum and provide input to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education before it approves any cannabis related degrees or certifications. 

  • Joann Zeiger of Boulder, Colorado, to serve as a scientist from a relevant field, appointed;
  • Malik Muhammad Hasan of Pueblo, Colorado, to serve as a member associated with cannabis-related industries, appointed;
  • Sherard Marshon Rogers of Denver, Colorado, to serve as a member associated with cannabis-related industries, appointed;
  • Salvatore Pace of Pueblo, Colorado, to serve as a member associated with cannabis-related industries, appointed;
  • John Desmond Lord of Golden, Colorado, to serve as a member associated with cannabis-related industries, appointed;
  • L. Cinnamon Bidwell of Boulder, Colorado, to serve as a scientist from a relevant field and as Chair, appointed;
  • Suzanne A. Sisley of Scottsdale, Arizona, to serve as a scientist from a relevant field, appointed.

Designated members:

  • The Chancellor of the Colorado State University System or their Designee: Dr. Timothy Mottet, President of Colorado State University Pueblo;
  • The Executive Director of the Colorado Commission on Higher Education or their designee: Mr. Scott McWhorter, CEO Rocky Mountain Extraction Services;
  • The President of the University of Colorado or their designee: Dr. Jon Reuter, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Research Integrity & Compliance University of Colorado Boulder;
  • The Executive Director of the Department of Public Health and Environment or their designee: Ms. Elyse Contreras

Spring 2022 Registration

Registration Opens October 18, 2021.

To register for Spring 2022 courses, students will need to meet with their academic success coach or faculty mentor, submit proof of vaccination or exemption, and self-register through Banner.
