ICR Conference 2018

Second Annual Conference Announcement

Exploring All Things Cannabis: Research in Action

The ICR 2017 Conference attracted over 500 attendees and researchers from every field of cannabis expertise. We look forward to making ICR 2018 an even bigger and more eclectic exploration of all things cannabis. The ICR at CSU-Pueblo will hold its second annual conference at CSU-Pueblo from April 26-28, 2018. The conference will be a 3-day forum where cannabis experts will share knowledge about scientific, medical, industrial, legal, economic, and social elements of cannabis research.

Abstract submissions for the 2018 ICR Conference have now closed. Information on the 2019 Conference dates and call for papers will be announced in April.

ICR 2018 Plenary Speakers

Opening Plenary Address: Dr. Audra Stinchcomb

Dr. Audra StinchcombDr. Audra Stinchcomb, a former CSU-Pueblo Student, is a Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Dr. Stinchcomb’s research is focused on transdermal prodrugs, microneedle-enhanced delivery, and translational research models. Transdermal cannabinoid delivery has been a major research focus, with new prodrugs developed to improve aqueous solubility, chemical stability, as well as skin permeation.

Mechoulam Lecturer: Dr. Vincenzo Di Marzo

Dr. Vincenzo Di MarzoAn internationally recognized authority on endocannabinoid pharmacology, Dr. Vincenzo Di Marzo is the Canada Excellence Research Chair on the Microbiome-Endocannabinoidome Axis in Metabolic Health at Universitéé Laval, Quebec City, Canada and Research Director and Coordinator of the Endocannabinoid Research Group at the Institute of Biomolecular Chemistry, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Pozzuoli, Napoli, Italy.

Di Marzo received a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular pharmacology from Imperial College London in 1988. Two years later, he finished postdoctoral studies in lipid biochemistry and natural products chemistry at ICB-CNR. Di Marzo has received numerous research grants, including a Human Frontier Science Program grant to study the biosynthesis, metabolism, and structure-activity relationships of endocannabinoids. Along with authoring hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific articles and editing several books, Di Marzo is co-inventor on more than a dozen patents for the possible use of cannabinoids in the treatment of diseases such as various cancers, neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's, and muscular dystrophy.

A 2007 recipient of the International Cannabinoid Research Society’s Mechoulam Award for his outstanding contribution to research on the cannabinoid system, Di Marzo was named in 2010 by Thomson Reuters as the top scientist of the decade for pharmacology and toxicology.
