DUO - Two-Factor Authentication

Students, Faculty, and Staff Set Up DUO Today!

All students, faculty, and staff must have DUO 2-factor authentication set up prior to May 11, 2022 when we move to MS 365 campus-wide. Accounts that have not been set up will be unable to access services such as email, password management, and other applications that will begin to require 2-factor authentication. Please view our video and use the resources below to get your account set up!

What is Two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication" is an authentication method in which a user is granted access to a website or application only after successfully presenting two or more pieces of evidence (or factors) to an authentication mechanism.

The factors fall into two categories:

  1. This is something you know, i.e. your password
  2. Something only you have, i.e. your smartphone, office phone, tablet.

What is Duo?

"Duo" is the two-factor authentication method used to verify the identity of users on campus systems that require a second factor for authentication.

The Duo application can be setup on your smartphone or tablet. This will allow you to authorize access to a system. (Recommended)

A phone number can be provided, this number will receive a call and give you a series of numbers to enter into a verification box.
