IT Governance

The purpose of IT Governance at CSU-Pueblo is to provide structure, accountability, oversight and continuous improvement to IT operations and IT project implementation.  Governance efforts are designed to ensure alignment of IT department resources to institutional goals, University mission and vision objectives.

 IT Projects

The IT Governance Committee reviews IT projects submitted by the campus for review, acceptance and prioritization.  The committee utilizes a scoring matrix that weights all factors of the project that drive its priority and produces a score.   This score gives it a ranking in the master list of prioritized projects that have been approved.  This list then informs and guides the allotment of available staff hours for project work.   This process and the resulting list of projects are subject to review and approval by the IT Governance Council whose membership is appointed by the vice presidents to represent all major constituents of the campus   Submit a Project.

 IT Service Catalog

The IT service catalog is maintained and reviewed by the IT Governance committee to ensure the available selection of services is sufficient and appropriate to serve the needs of campus and its strategic objectives.  Service performance reporting is also reviewed and continuous improvement projects are implemented and tracked.  The Committee provides reporting to the Council for review and approval..

 IT Communications Plan

The IT Governance Committee establishes communications roles, target audiences, mediums, defines contexts and processes, and guidelines  that inform both internal expectations and external engagement of all divisions of the IT department specifically and of IT leadership and the management team in general.

 IT Security

All IT Security plans and policies are presented to the executive-appointed IT Governance Council for review and approval.  This includes disaster recovery (DR) plan, incident response plan, and all other IT security plans and policies related to compliance and data confidentiality, integrity and availability.
