Phi Alpha Theta/History Club
Every Friday, 2:45pm-3:45pm, in Psych 240.
Students who join the history club engage in a wide variety of activities focused on history. There have been movie festivals, travel to historic sites, lecture series, student tutoring, service activities, and a host of other events determined by the members each year. It is free to join and is open to all students, regardless of major! The History Club is currently run by Alpha Theta Kappa, the campus branch of the national history honorary society, Phi Alpha Theta.

Car Wash
The History Club is washing cars to raise money for our trip to the Biennial Phi Alpha Theta Convention in January. While there students will be presenting their research to a national audience of Historians.

The History Club will be participating in Pueblo's annual Ghost Walk when figures from History come to life and tell us their stories.

Crowdfunding Campaign
To assist in our plans to send all students who wish to go to New Orleans for the Biennial Convention, the CSU-Pueblo Foundation is generously helping us to crowdsource our funding for the trip. We will be asking you to contribute and share our campaign as broadly as possible.

Colorado Regional Phi Alpha Theta Conference
The CSU Pueblo History Program and the Alpha Theta Kappa Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta is pleased to host the Colorado Regional Phi Alpha Theta Conference. Students from all over Colorado and from neighboring states have an opportunity to present their research to an audience of budding historians.

Honor Society
Alpha Theta Kappa Chapter
Phi Alpha Theta is a professional society whose mission is to promote the study of history by encouraging research, good teaching, publication, and the exchange of ideas among historians. We seek to bring students, teachers, and writers of history together for intellectual and social conversations. We also support historical research and publication by our members. Phi Alpha Theta currently runs the History Club, so even if you are not a member of this professional society, you can join us for fun and exciting events!
Initiation
The induction ceremony for the Alpha Theta Kappa chapter of Phi Alpha Theta is held every Spring at the Union Depot in downtown Pueblo in conjunction with the annual Bea Spade Lecture Series. The next deadline for applications is December 8, 2017. Please see Dr. Gaughan for more details. In order to be eligible, students must have completed at least 12 hours of history courses (at least 6 at CSU Pueblo), have a 3.1 GPA in history courses (a 3.0 GPA overall), and be ranked in the top 35% of their class. Students are not required to be a declared History major or minor to participate. There is a one time charge of $50 for membership.

Biennial Conference
The Phi Alpha Theta Biennial Convention will be held at the InterContinental Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana from January 3-7, 2018. Details and the Call for Papers will be posted at www.phialphatheta.org.
