Academic Services

At the Hasan School of Business, we strive to provide comprehensive academic support for a diverse group of students and to help them become successful, independent and life-long learners. One of our primary goals is to create an open atmosphere of learning for all students who need assistance. Academic advising is offered to all business students. HSB has a professional advising staff whose primary role is to serve as advisors and counselors to our students. The HSB Learning Center offers valuable resources for students, including student-to-student tutoring at no charge to the student.

Through exceptional service, high academic standards, various tutoring methods, a compassionate staff, and regular self-assessment and improvement, we strive to be recognized as a valuable student services resource on the CSU-Pueblo campus.​​

    Academic Advising

    Given our mission and target population, a large percentage of our undergraduate students are first-generation college students, many of whom initially benefit from assistance to help them overcome their unique challenges. HSB has faced this need by hiring professional staff whose primary role is to serve as advisors and counselors to our students. 

    Transitioning from a 2-year college?

    CSU-Pueblo is a great place to earn your bachelor's degree.

    We strongly encourage you to seek guidance regarding transferability of courses you're considering. The following documents and pages will help with your transfer over and make the transfer process as easy and  seamless as possible.

    Learning Center

    It is the Hasan School of Business Learning Center’s mission to provide comprehensive academic support for a diverse group of students and to help them become successful, independent and life-long learners. Central to our mission is the proviso that each student is treated with respect, consideration of his/her individual needs, and empathy. Through exceptional service, high academic standards, various tutoring methods, a compassionate staff, and regular self-assessment and improvement, we strive to be recognized as a valuable student services resource on the CSU-Pueblo campus.

    Tutoring Service

    Tutoring assistance is available to HSB students enrolled and regularly attending the content course for which the request is made. Tutoring is a support service and not a substitute for classroom instruction. It is strongly suggested that students work closely with their instructors in conjunction with tutoring.

    To request tutoring, please fill out the form and submit it directly to Gene Lucero, the HSB tutoring coordinator, in HSB 230, or call 719.549.2175 to set up an appointment to request a tutor.

    Resources for Tutors

    If you are interested in helping others, want a great teaching experience, have good communication skills, are dependable, have enthusiasm for the subject matter and received a grade of A or B in the course being tutored, please complete and application, and submit to Gene Lucero, HSB 230 or call at 719. 549.2175. Volunteer Tutors are kindly accepted. Paid tutors average about five to 10 hours per week and cannot exceed 20 hours per week. This Student Hourly position pays $9.00 an hour.

    Please use the free study skills, study strategies, study skills links and study tips on this site. We update our content, so check back often for valuable new study aids.

      The Student Success Plan contains proven strategies for academic success. Please print one out and select the strategies that will best work for you. Or meet with your academic advisor and go over the Student Success Plan together.
