Requesting Classroom Accommodations

Students that have been admitted to Colorado State University-Pueblo may request reasonable academic accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 in accordance with the University’s policies by following the processes below.

Students requesting accommodations must complete the appropriate application for accommodations and submit documentation of a disability. All disability documents can be submitted to:

    Requesting Academic/Classroom Accommodations

    To register for classroom accommodations, students must:

    1. Self-Identify to the Director of the Disability Resource & Support Center as a student with a disability.
    2. Submit documentation of disability(ies) and application for classroom accommodations.
    3. Request a follow up appointment with the Director following document review process to discuss documentation review and reasonable accommodations.

    Requesting Housing/Non-Academic Accommodations

    To register for university housing accommodations, students must:

    1. Self-identify to the campus office/department for which non-academic accommodations are being requested.
    2. Self-Identify to the Director of the Disability Resource & Support Center as a student with a disability.
    3. Complete and submit the request/informed consent and documentation of a disability to the Disability Resource & Support Center.
    4. Contact the campus office/department following submission of documentation to verify granted accommodations.  Determination process generally takes 5 to 10 business days.

    Once Registered

    1. Students must request reasonable academic accommodations for each semester. Housing accommodations need only be requested once per academic year.
    2. Students will distribute and discuss accommodations letters with faculty/instructors/staff.
    3. Students must return the signed Faculty Acknowledgement Form to the Disability Resource & Support Center.
