Scholarships

Opportunities

We have the following scholarships available for international students:

Handling Finances in the US

Bank Accounts

There are several banks located throughout Pueblo.  Opening a checking/savings account at any of these banks is recommended.  There are “free” checking accounts available at most banks if requested, which means a minimum balance is not required and fees to maintain the account are minimal.

Credit Cards

If possible, a credit card should be obtained in the student's home country before leaving for the USA.  It may help to pay initial costs, including tuition, if nothing else.  It may be difficult, if not impossible, to obtain a US credit card after arrival at least in the first semester of study. A good credit history will need to be established before you can obtain a credit card in the United States.

Save money

Remember, advanced booking of everything, i.e., rental cars, hotels, airline flights, etc., is always cheaper within the USA. When making travel reservations with any U.S. company, always ask about special promotional rates, student discounts, etc., in order to get the best deal.
