Safe Zone training here at CSU - Pueblo. This is an opportunity to become involved and gain knowledge on the LGBTQIA population. Participants begin their training by attending a madatory orientation session and continue their involvement through monthly luncheon discussion. Participants will learn to identify and explain appropriate LGBT resources for students in need, be informed about significant LGBT issues, and be able to identify at least two ways to improve their support of the LGBT community.

This is a workshop that aims to increase awareness about hetero-sexism and homophobia, educates participants about sexual minorities, gender, gender identity, and assumptions regarding tenets of sex and gender. Safe Zone hopes that everyone involved will help create a more receptive and nurturing climate by supporting LGBTQ students, staff, faculty, and community guests (Citation, Sarah Burgamy, Psy.D.)

We aim to encourage, challenge and develop our students, staff, faculty and community members to challenge the norms of life and societal norms. There will be limited space so please RSVP via diversityresourcecenter@csupueblo.edu.
