    Student Visa Requirements

Colorado State University Pueblo will issue a form I-20 to student applicants (and any accompanying dependents) after all documents required for admission are received and the student has been admitted. The I-20 is a required form to obtain the student (F-1) visa from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Obtaining and Maintaining a Student Visa:

    1. Complete the SEVIS form (I-901) and pay the SEVIS fee. This can be completed using a paper or an online option (see link). If completing a paper form, please take this action as early as possible to allow U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement time to receive and process.
    2. Contact the nearest American Embassy Visa Section and arrange an interview. The Form I-20 is issued to you by CSU Pueblo. Proof of SEVIS payment, and any other documentation required by the embassy, must be presented at the time of the interview.
    3. Visit Colorado State University Pueblo’s Office of the Registrar upon arrival to campus. CSU Pueblo is required to ensure that you have arrived on campus.

For more information about the SEVIS form and fee, please visit U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

    Transfer and Graduate Students:

Students who have previously attended another college/university in the United States must also provide a SEVIS Release Form completed by the prior college/university in order for CSU Pueblo to issue a new I-20.
