Mission

The mission of the Disability Resource & Support Center (DRSC) at Colorado State University-Pueblo is to ensure provision of reasonable academic accommodations and support, designed to enhance academic effectiveness and promote independence in students with documented disabilities.

According to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Section 504 states, “no otherwise qualified individual in the United States…shall, solely by reason of his/her handicap, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. To be in accordance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA), all colleges and universities will comply with the laws, regulations and guidelines that are mandated in the United States.

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Students new to DRSC registration process will self-report a clear understanding of the rights and responsibilities associated with the registration and reasonable accommodation process.

  2. Registered students with the DRSC will demonstrate the importance of disability services/accommodations by utilizing accommodations and services and/or by attending follow up meetings with the DRSC Director.

  3. Students will independently attempt to resolve disability accommodation issues and will request assistance from Director as needed.
