A member of the University’s Communications staff for the past 32 years, Jim Bowman creates the University’s graphic image through graphic design and photography. He is an integral part of the creation of all print publications, print and electronic advertising, and enforcement of the proper use of the University’s graphic identity.
A 1982 graphic design/fine arts alumnus of the University, he has committed nearly his entire career to creating and maintaining the University’s image.
His designs have earned awards from the following organizations:
- Art Directors Club of Denver
- Southern Colorado Press Club
- Higher Education Association of the Rockies (HEAR) Peoples Choice Awards
- Council for the Advancement and Support of Education District VI
- National Newspaper of Admissions Marketing
Jim also has received community recognition for the Pueblo Bambino World Series Babe Ruth rendering and the PBS Special of the Koshare tribe featuring his rendering of the Eagle Dance.
Jim draws his inspiration from the Pacific tropics of Maui, Hawaii, where he was born. He enjoys traveling with his family, wife, Teresa, and daughters Annette, 36, and Alixsandra, 21. An avid biker, he enjoys riding and showing his 2007 Custom Harley Road King. Jim enjoys golfing when he can find the time.
